We assess all submissions but we cannot offer individual feedback or editorial guidance for proposals that do not fit our guidelines, standards, or vision.

All submissions and contents therein must be the legal intellectual property of the person submitting the proposal. By submitting a proposal you are agreeing to enter into contract negotiations with High Prairie Press to publish your proposed project, and it is understood that no other publisher is currently considering its acquisition, and that the rights we are negotiating to acquire are available. We cannot accept simultaneous submissions. If there are issues with the rights to the manuscript you are submitting, please include an explanation of the issues in your proposal.

If you are requested to submit a completed manuscript in a follow-up email from a High Prairie Press editor, please follow the submission guidelines below (with the exception of poetry):

  • Use 12 pt. Times New Roman
  • Double spaced document
  • Number all pages
  • Author’s name and title on first page

Poetry must be submitted in PDF as it is meant to be arranged on the page when published.

All submissions must be sent in the form of attachments (not copy/pasted into the body of the text) to submissions@highprairiepress.org

At High Prairie Press, we recognize the amount of work that goes into creating a book proposal, and we appreciate your effort and hard work. While we do assess all proposals, and we try to get back to all potential authors, due to the high volume of submissions, we cannot respond to all proposals. If you have not heard from us in 12 weeks, you can assume we have chosen to not accept your book proposal, and we wish you success in your writing career.
